This is a moment of change for me. Some of them are good and some are bad. 

I'm excited about some of them and terrified by some others.

But basically I'm a creature of habit, I hate changes. 

I'm like a cat: I can wander around and explore, but when I come back I want to find things as I left them. 

But life never stays the same. Everything moves. 

I only hope to be strong enough to accept it.

Questo è un periodo di grandi cambiamenti per me. Alcuni belli, altri brutti. 

Alcuni mi entusiasmano, altri mi terrorizzano. 

Ma fondamentalmente sono abitudinaria, odio i cambiamenti. 

Sono come un gatto: posso andarmene in giro a esplorare, ma quando torno a casa mi piace trovare le cose esattamente come le ho lasciate. 

Ma la vita non resta mai la stessa. Tutto si muove. 

Spero solo di essere forte abbastanza per accettarlo.

I've been pretty busy lately and lots of things happened.. in order: I got my master's degree (yay!), I celebrated with family and friends, I went to Istanbul, I started decluttering my stuff (such a long and hard work!) and I changed my hair color (after years of highlights, I wanted to go back to my natural color, even if at the moment it's a bit darker). 

And on thursday I'm going to London to see some friends.

I really haven't had time to take a deep breath and realize that I graduated.

Sono stata piuttosto occupata ultimamente e sono successe diverse cose.. nell'ordine: mi sono laureata (specialistica/magistrale), ho festeggiato con i miei amici e familiari, sono stata a Istanbul, ho iniziato a fare pulizia tra le mie cose (un lavoro lungo e sofferto) e ho cambiato colore di capelli (dopo anni di colpi di sole ho voluto tornare al mio colore naturale, anche se al momento sono un po' più scura). 

E giovedì vado a Londra a trovare degli amici.

Non ho davvero avuto il tempo di fare un respiro profondo e rendermi conto che mi sono laureata.

A great concert, Mr. Wolf is a really talented artist and an easygoing and friendly person.
You already know how much I like his music, so you can easily imagine my joy and excitement being there.. of course Mr. Brown was excited too, as you can see from the picture.  :-)

Summer is almost over

Accidenti notturni

Se fossi una romantica fanciulla nell'Inghilterra dell'Ottocento probabilmente mi sarei delicatamente slogata una caviglia e sarei stata così soccorsa da un misterioso e affascinante gentiluomo. 

Ma, ahimè, al momento il romanticismo è totalmente assente dalla mia vita ed è per questo che il massimo che ho potuto permettermi è stato di sbattare il malleolo contro lo SPIGOLO del letto e quasi svenire dal dolore. 

Stranamente la caviglia non si è ancora gonfiata come una zampogna, ma giuro che stanotte l'ho addirittura sentita pulsare.

Pulcinella / Il Mandarino Meraviglioso

Giornata super-intensa ieri! 

Sveglia alle 6.30 per andare a Venezia, finito il turno in museo sono corsa di nuovo al treno e, arrivata a casa, in 20 minuti mi sono docciata e sistemata. Mi sono precipitata a prendere l'autobus e finalmente ho potuto tirare un po' il fiato.

Sono tornata a casa all'una di notte stanca morta, ma ne è valsa la pena.

Ho visto i balletti Pulcinella e Il Mandarino Meraviglioso su musiche di Stravinskij e Béla Bartòk al Teatro Filarmonico di Verona. 

Protagonisti Giuseppe Picone (straordinario il suo Pulcinella, un'intrerpretazione perfettamente riuscita) e Jason Reilly (un Mandarino appassionato e dalle linee pulite). Notevoli anche Amaya Ugarteche, Antonio Russo, Yunieska Legrà Sànchez, Nicolò Noto, Alessia Gelmetti e il resto del corpo di ballo dell'Arena di Verona.

Le coreografie e i costumi erano veramente suggestivi, in particolare quelli del Mandarino Meraviglioso, giocati sui toni del grigio, nero e rosso con qualche tocco dorato.

Mr. Brown era con me, vi lascio qualche sua foto mentre esplora il teatro.

A Bellini at Harry's Bar

As I told you, yesterday I went to Venice with the crew I occasionally collaborate with to interview some people. 

The most interesting was certainly Arrigo Cipriani, the owner of Harry's Bar, who's a really nice and friendly person. 

We had a delicious Bellini (a cocktail invented by Arrigo's father, Giuseppe) and he gave us some copies of his books. And, of course, we talked a lot about Venice..

Terrific day indeed :-)

Come vi avevo preannunciato, ieri sono stata a Venezia con la troupe con cui collaboro saltuariamente per alcune interviste.

La più interessante è stata senza dubbio quella di Arrigo Cipriani, il proprietario dell'Harry's Bar, che è una persona veramente gentile e alla mano.

Abbiamo bevuto un Bellini delizioso (cocktail inventato dal padre di Arrigo, Giuseppe) e ci ha regalato alcune copie dei suoi libri. E poi, ovviamente, abbiamo parlato un sacco di Venezia..

Una giornata pazzesca :-)

Blue hydrangea

On saturday I was in Venice (doing the morning shift at the museum) and I went to my collegue's flat for lunch and for celebrating both our birthdays. She's really nice. 

I don't know why, but I'm always surprised when someone wants to make friends with me. 

Isn't that weird? Does it mean that my self-esteem is lower than I thought?

Sabato mattina ero a Venezia (di turno in museo) e sono andata a pranzo da una mia collega per festeggiare entrambi i nostri compleanni. E' proprio simpatica.

Non so perchè, ma sono sempre sorpresa quando qualcuno vuole essere mio amico. 

Non è strano? Significa forse che la mia autostima è ancora più bassa di quello che pensavo?

Incredibly my cats left me sleeping until 9.30 this morning.. They usually wake up and want to go out at dawn!

My family is in Spain on holiday and I'm enjoying staying at home alone.. it happens really rarely.

I know you all think "Parents away? It means.. a huge party!" but I'm really busy writing my thesis, so it actually just means I can go to the toilet leaving the door open. Nice. uh? 

What about you? What are you doing this Easter?

Mi sembra ancora incredibile che i miei gatti mi abbiano lasciato dormire fino alle 9.30 stamattina.. di solito sono svegli e pimpanti all'alba! 

La mia famiglia è in vacanza in Spagna ed io mi godo la casa tutta per me.. succede così di rado!

Immagino che dovrei approfittarne e dare una mega-festa, ma sono piuttosto impegnata con la mia tesi, perciò il fatto che i miei siano via si traduce semplicemente nel poter andare in bagno con la porta aperta. Non male eh?

E voi cosa fate queste vacanze di Pasqua?

The first day of shooting has just ended and I'm exhausted. 

It's a little documentary, pretty demanding, though.

And, as prodution assistant, I'm in charge of everything but shooting itself: people, transports, timetables, meals, contacts, consent forms and everything required.

Which means that I'm always on the phone, rushing all day, often talking with three people at the same time and trying not to forget anything.. but it's so exciting! :-)

Il primo giorno di riprese è appena finito e sono esausta.

E' un piccolo documentario, ma piuttosto impegnativo.

E, come assistente di produzione, mi devo occupare di tutto tranne di filmare: persone, trasporti, orari, pasti, contatti, liberatorie e tutto il necessario per la troupe e il progetto.

Il che significa che sono sempre al telefono, di corsa da una parte all'altra, spesso parlo con tre persone contemporaneamente e cerco disperatamente di non dimenticare nulla.. ma è così eccitante! :-)

National Cat Day

These are my furry babies.. 

Maggie is the oldest and she just can't stand her little brother (he's too lively and has no manners sometimes), but Mosè (who loves her) always tries to play with her.

Oggi è la Giornata Nazionale del Gatto! 

Queste sono le mie piccole pallette di pelo.. 

Maggie è la più grande e non sopporta il suo fratellino (a volte è troppo vivace e non si sa comportare), ma Mosè (che la adora) non si scoraggia e cerca sempre di coinvolgerla nei suoi giochi.

Mosè has the bad habit to bite and chew everything he can get his paws on. And, just in case you forgot it, Mosè's a cat. 

This become a serious problem when he ruins scarves, pillows and blankets (do you remember mine?), so I use to buy him toys he can chew and destroy.

Mosè ha la pessima abitudine di mordere e rosicchiare qualsiasi cosa su cui riesca a mettere le sue zampette pelose. E, nel caso lo abbiate dimenticato, Mosè è un gatto.

Questo suo comportamento risulta un problema piuttosto fastidioso quando attacca sciarpe, cuscini e coperte (ricordate come ha ridotto la mia?), così di solito gli compro dei giochini che può masticare e distruggere tranquillamente.

I'm so sorry for my lack of posts lately, but I really had no time at all for blogging..
Do you like my new daily planner? I really like Hugo Pratt's "Corto Maltese" and when I saw this little planner I immediately fell in love with it.  :-)
It's very simple and it has some (gorgeous) illustrations here and there.

Scusatemi per la mia assenza dal blog, ma vi assicuro che è giustificata.. non ho proprio avuto tempo per postare ultimamente.

Vi piace la mia nuova agendina? Ho una passione smodata per Corto Maltese e quando l'ho vista me ne sono innamorata subito. :-)
E' molto semplice ed ha qualche (bellissima) illustrazione qua e là.
