So che a molti questo film non è piaciuto.. e posso capire perchè. E' pieno di luoghi comuni e stereotipi (principalmente sull'Italia e gli italiani, ahimè), con un doppiaggio imbarazzante e una protagonista a tratti fastidiosa. 

Tuttavia a me il film è piaciuto. 

Sarà perchè è visivamente molto bello, sarà perchè ha una bella colonna sonora, sarà perchè offre degli spunti tutt'altro che banali o sarà perchè "mangia, prega, ama" è un consiglio e una verità così profonda e semplice da essere commovente, ma insomma, a me è piaciuto.

Prossima tappa: Bali.

I know that lots of people didn't like this film.. and I can see why. It's filled with clichés and stereotypes (especially about Italy and Italians, alas), with an embarassing dubbing and a, sometimes, annoying main charactere.

Even so, I liked this film.

Maybe it's because it's visually beautiful, maybe it's because it has a lovely soundtrack, maybe it's because it develops many good ideas or maybe because "eat, pray, love" is a suggestion and a truth so deep and simple to be even touching.. but, in a word, I liked it.

Next stop: Bali.

I'd like to start saying that I read this book in 3 days although it's 535 pages long.. a real page-turner!

The plot: the young bookseller Margaret Lea is called by the famous Vida Winter, a successful writer with a mysterious past, to write her biography. So, between red-hair twins, fires, thoughtless doctors, cats, abandoned babies and disappeared housekeepers Margaret manages to shine a light on the writer's obscure past.

The book is very well written, the story is enthralling and flows quickly, it remainds me of the XIX century's novels with some gothic echoes.

Thumbs up.

Premetto che ho letto questo libro in 3 giorni nonostante siano 535 pagine.. non riuscivo a smettere! 

La trama: la giovane libraia Margaret Lea viene contattata dalla famosa Vida Winter, scrittrice di successo dal passato misterioso per scrivere la sua biografia. Ed è così che tra gemelle dai capelli rossi, incendi, dottori sconsiderati, gatti, bambini abbandonati e governanti scomparse Margaret riesce a fare luce sull'oscuro passato della romanziera.

E' scritto molto, molto bene, la storia è avvincente e scorre veloce, come impostazione ricorda un po' i romanzi dell'ottocento con qualche eco gotico. 

Consigliato.

As I've always been saying, the treadmill is the most dangerous machine at the gym.

Infact, a few days ago I tumbled down this evil machine and this is the result (and I didn't take a picture of the bruise I got on my bum).

But, to be honest, I must say the treadmill was turned off at the moment of the fall (yes, I'm a bit clumsy).

Come ho sempre detto, il tapis roulant è la macchina più pericolosa di tutta la palestra.

Infatti, alcuni giorni fa sono ruzzolata da questa macchina malefica e questo è il risultato (vi ho risparmiato le foto del livido che ho sulle chiappe).

Ad essere sincera però, devo dire che il tapis roulant era spento al momento della caduta (sì, sono un po' goffa).

Chi tra giovedì 23 e venerdì 24 Settembre percorre le vie di Bologna a bordo di un'auto Mercedes-Benz, molto probabilmente sarà protagonista di uno “Urban Pit Stop”, con la macchina circondata da un pool di meccanici decisi a controllarci lo stato di pneumatici, frecce, fari e scarichi.

Si tratta di un'operazione di street marketing volta a promuovere l'efficienza del servizio assistenza della casa tedesca. 
Carino come sistema promozionale, no? invece di fastidiose interruzioni pubblicitarie finalmente qualcosa di utile! 
Bolognesi, voi che potete, approfittatene!

1. I gatti, come ormai avrete intuito.  

Cats, as you probably already know.

2. La fotografia. Sono un'allegra dilettante in questo campo,senza alcuna velleità, ma mi piace scattare foto e guradare quelle degli altri.

Photography. I'm just an amateur, not a wanna-be photographer, but I really like taking pictures and looking at others photographs.

3. Il cinema, uno dei linguaggi universali (insieme a musica e matematica) per Frank Capra.

Before going to PordenoneLegge with Martina, I promised myself that I wouldn't have bought any book at all.
The reason is that I have a pile of books as tall as me on my bedside table, my "reading waiting list".
Obviously i couldn't keep the resolution and I came home with these and a list of books I would like to read (other material for my waiting list).


Prima di andare a PordenoneLegge con Martina, mi ero ripromessa di non comprare assolutamente, per nessun motivo alcun libro.
Il motivo è presto detto: accanto al letto ho una pila alta quanto me di libri da leggere, la mia waiting list di lettura.
Ovviamente non sono riuscita a mantenere il mio proposito e sono tornata a casa con questi e una lista di libri che vorrei leggere (e quindi aggiungere alla pila).

Just a short entry to say that no, I'm not dead. Unfortunately my phone line doesn't work due to a short circuit. Now I'm writing from Silvia's, a friend of mine.
The preparations for my transfer to Milan are well under way: the initial happiness turned into a "ohmygod-what-should-I-wear" panic attack.
Oh, obviously a spot has already come up -__-.


Un post velocissimo per dire che no, non sono morta, è solo che a casa mia è saltata la linea del telefono per un corto circuito. Al momento sto scrivendo da casa di un'amica, Silvia.
Fervono i preparativi per la mia trasferta milanese: l'iniziale euforismo ha lasciato posto al panico da "ommioddio-cosa-mi-metto".
Ah, ovviamente è già spuntato un brufolo -__-.
